LOGLINE

A new Rabbi is hired at the Stockholm jewish community, he speaks of including the woman in an outdated testament and openly invites muslims to the synagogue. Director Irene Lopez follows Rabbi David Lazar as he tries to implicate change in the Swedish jewish community but not all changes are welcome and soon after his arrival a wave of criticism rises that parts the community in two.

PLOT

Rabbi David Lazar is famous for his some what new ways, he was the first to web homosexuals in Israel, he prays with muslims and he speaks of the lacking female represation in the Torah. Documentary filmmaker Irene Lopez follows Rabbi Lazar during his three stormy years as the chief Rabbi of the Jewish Congregation of Stockholm as he tries to implicate and bring about change to the Great Synagouge. As he changes and brings in his thoughts as well as invites muslims to the synagogue a storm of criticism rises from members and the organization.

David has a way of doing whatever he feels like and in many ways he works for a better community by working for gay and lesbian rights, working with interfaith dialogues and meetings as well as trying to work around peaceful solutions between the local muslim, jewish and christian community.

As he drives further into his role as a liberal Rabbi the criticism becomes unstoppable and it all leads up to a disputed contract negation that may not secure Davids role with the Jewish Community of Stockholm.
